The guitar pop scene began quietly in Tokyo in the mid-1980s. A GIRL FROM PENNY ARCADE", the only official source of the legendary Penny Arcade band that formed the core of the scene, has been reissued on cassette tape in the same format as the original release, nearly 30 years later! Mastered and remastered in 2016, here are the evergreen roots of the 90s indie sound, from the new wave of the 80s via neo-acoustic and guitar pop!

Formed in 1986 around guitarist Masato Ishida and vocalist Yoko Satori, they were one of the few Japanese guitar-pop and indie bands that responded to the UK neo-acoustic scene and the indie scene represented by C86, including Lollipop Sonic, the predecessor band of Flipper's Guitar, and Debonair of Osaka, called the oldest neo-acoustic band in Japan. One of the few Japanese guitar-pop and indie originators, already working with English lyrics on all songs from that time. Ishida later formed Venus Peter, while Satori was active at the heart of the Tokyo indie and guitar pop scene in the 1990s as Marble Hammock and Dafodil 19. This generation was later known as Shibuya-kei, centred around Flipper's Guitar.
In 1988, when the band broke up, this soundtrack was released on cassette as a commemorative release, and in 1992 it was reissued in a limited edition of 1,000 copies by Wonder Release Records, which was Venus Peter's label.

1986年ギターの石田真人とボーカルの佐鳥葉子を中心に結成、フリッパーズ・ギターの前身バンド、ロリポップ・ソニックや日本最古のネオアコ・バンドと呼ばれた大阪のデボネアなど、UKネオアコ・シーンやC86に代表されるインディー・シーンと呼応した数少ない日本のギター・ポップ、インディーのオリジネイターのひとつ、当時からすでに全曲英詞で活動。
石田は後にヴィーナス・ペーターを結成、佐鳥はマーブル・ハンモックやダフォディル19として90年代東京のインディー、ギター・ポップ・シーンの中心で活動。後にこの世代はフリッパーズ・ギターを中心に渋谷系とよばれる。

この音源は88年、バンドの解散時に記念として制作されカセットでリリース、92年にはヴィーナス・ペーターのレーベルであったワンダー・リリース・レコードより1,000枚の限定盤として再発、即完売となり長年幻のアルバムとよばれていた。
